A Mas of Provence
With a passion for traditional architecture and savoir-faire, the owners called on « l'Atelier de la Pierre », the stone workshops, to revamp the Rue des Bergers building into a real Provençal Mas. This project gave life to a pleasant blend of old houses looks and today's comfort. It is a warm place at the heart of the city where to enjoy your stay, away from the city noises, ideally located near the Prefecture and the Old Port or Vieux-Port. It is the starting point of many visits in Marseilles and its surroundings. The bedrooms are decorated wih local scenes depicting the Marseilles spotmarks, in a simple and warm style devoid of present day trends.
The beautiful patio is an invitation to farniente, with an open air swimming pool and deck chairs to tan in the sun or to relax in the shadow of the terrace in fine weather. And also at the end of a work day or a long hike, nothing tops a warm jacuzzi to enjoy a state of weightless relaxation. Alone or with family or friends, the jacuzzi will make you feel well in all seasons.
Breakfast is served in the dining room which opens onto the patio. To insure a good start, Helen and Paul propose their home made cakes and jams made from their secret receipes. All our products are bios. The fig jam, old style bread by La Paline, honey and grand ma's gingerbread reenact olden times breakfast in France. The china is in genuine Provençal tradition signed by Jean Potier. When the chills of Autumn arrive, you will enjoy tea, coffee or hot chocolate by the chimney's warm fire.
Several fountains sculptured by « l'Atelier de la Pierre » adorn the swimming pool and the facade of the Mas en Ville. Their designer Philippe Giraud knew how to combine savoir-faire and creativity in order to revamp the Mas en Ville. In keeping with the ancient techniques of our region, these artists gave a new life to this old building and offer a haven of peace and authenticity.
